Jamii Running Project is a non-profit, inclusive running club located in Northern New Mexico. "Jamii" translates, in Swahili, to community or family. We welcome runners (walkers too!) of all abilities, ages, and cultures. We run year round and we are a member of New Mexico USATF.

We are dedicated to improving running abilities of children, young adults and adults from all cultures and backgrounds in Northern New Mexico through training, education and socialization.

Our Programs

Group Runs

We "Work Together" on our Saturday Morning Group Runs. Check our activities page for time and locations. All ages and abilities are welcome. Refreshments after the run. Group runs are a great way to begin a running program or to integrate into your current training program. Our Saturday runs are open to the public. 

Long Runs

Most Sundays we go long. 7-8 miles or more. Check our activities page for details. Bring your fluids. Refreshments after the run. 

Track Workouts

Join us every Thursday at the Pojoaque 400 meter outdoor track. Coach Doug leads us through your individualized training program with intervals, reps, hill work and more. Check the Activities page for details. 

Summer Youth Camp

Our summer Jamii Running youth Camp was held at the Pojoaque Wellness Center for Kids 8-16 on August 5, 6 and 7.  Details for the upcoming 2020 summer camp will be coming this fall. 

Our Coaches

Coach Abraham Kosgei is a former Kenyan Olympian and current Director of the Pojoaque Wellness Center. Abraham's  expertise and love of running  is world class.                                                                            

Coach Doug McTernan is USATF Level 1 Certified, SafeSport Certified and is USATF XC Specialist.
